Conference and Networking Workshop as the Culmination of the GREEN-COMP Project

As the culmination of the year-long GREEN-COMP project, TMBK Partners Sp. z o.o. organized the conference and networking workshop on “Sustainable Approaches Towards Green Transition in Polymeric Materials”, which took place in Kielce, Poland, on May 22nd and 23rd during the 28th International Fair of Plastics and Rubber Processing PLASTPOL.

The event featured an intense program of lectures, presentations of results, and defining research directions, with the main topics of interest as follows:

  • Green alternatives for polymer and polymer composite synthesis
  • Sustainable production of polymers and polymer composites
  • Recycling and reusing of polymer waste
  • Management of polymer waste
  • Life cycle assessment of polymers and their composites
  • Green transformation of enterprises

The event was dedicated to academia and industry representatives, offering participants an opportunity to engage with industry experts, thought leaders, and professionals. With 21 speakers, 12 participants in the poster presentation contest, and about 60 listeners preregistered for the conference and workshop, the event generated significant interest. It provided a time for networking, exchanging views, experiences, and ideas for advancing the green transition in polymeric materials.

Among the invited speakers were Sandra Paszkiewicz, PhD DSc, and Elżbieta Piesowicz, PhD DSc, both from the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin; Mateusz Barczewski, PhD DSc, from the Poznan University of Technology; Maria Kurańska, PhD DSc, from the Cracow University of Technology; Kamila Sałasińska, PhD DSc, from the Warsaw University of Technology; Mikelis Kirpluks, PhD, from the Latvian State Institute of Wood Chemistry; Katarzyna Pokwicka-Croucher – Founder and CEO of Ecopolplast; Ewa Witoń-Morgiewicz, PhD – Innovation Manager at TC3 Sp. z o.o.; Alexia Koutrakou, MSc, from Global Consulting Sustainability AS; and Bartłomiej Bereska, PhD Eng – CEO of Noma Resins sp. z o.o.

In the contest for the best poster presentation, the winners were as follows:

  • First place: Katarzyna Suchorowiec from the AGH University of Krakow 
  • Second place: Barbara Olsztyn from the Gdańsk University of Technology
  • Third place: Julia Godlewska from the Gdańsk University of Technology
  • Distinction: Adam Jankowski from the Gdańsk University of Technology
